Shopify Stores Built to Sell in Quebec and Canada
A fast, bilingual Shopify store configured for Canadian taxes, shipping and customers, ready to take orders from day one.
Loubane designs and develops Shopify stores for merchants in Montreal, Quebec and across Canada. We handle store setup, theme design and customization, app selection, payments, Canadian tax settings for GST/HST, QST and PST, shipping rates, a complete French and English storefront, product imports, SEO foundations and tracking, then support you after launch so the store keeps growing.
What Shopify development is, in plain language
Shopify is a hosted e-commerce platform: it takes care of servers, security updates and checkout so you can focus on selling. Shopify development is everything needed to turn an empty account into a store that converts. That means choosing and customizing a theme, structuring products and collections, configuring payments, taxes and shipping, adding the right apps, translating the storefront, and connecting analytics and marketing tools.
A store can look finished and still lose sales because of slow pages, confusing shipping costs, missing French content or a checkout that charges the wrong tax. Our job is to get those details right, so customers trust the store and complete their order.

Our process
Discover
We review your products, margins, shipping reality, tax registrations and the customers you want to reach. We agree on a sitemap, features and launch date.
Build
We design key templates, configure the store, import products and set up taxes, shipping and payments. You review a working preview, not just mock-ups.
Launch
We run test orders in both languages, check tax and shipping on real Canadian addresses, connect the domain and set up redirects if you are migrating.
Grow
After launch, we monitor speed, conversion and search performance, and help with campaigns, new collections and app updates.
Tools and platforms we use
- Shopify admin, Online Store themes and the Shopify theme editor
- Shopify Markets for selling to different regions
- Shopify’s Translate & Adapt app or a professional translation workflow for French content
- Shopify Payments and other supported payment providers
- Shopify Shipping, Canada Post and other carrier integrations
- Shopify POS for merchants with a physical store
- Klaviyo or Shopify Email, Google Analytics 4, Google Merchant Center, Meta and TikTok sales channels
Quebec and Canadian compliance notes
General information to plan with, not legal or tax advice. Always confirm tax obligations with your accountant.
- Sales taxes: Canadian stores generally must register for GST/HST once taxable revenue passes the small supplier threshold of $30,000, and Quebec has its own QST. Shopify collects tax only for regions you enable, so we configure exactly what your accountant confirms.
- French storefront: Quebec’s Charter of the French language applies to commercial content, including websites. Product information should be available in French, and other languages should not be offered on more favourable terms. Standard terms of sale should also be available in French.
- Law 25 privacy: tracking that can identify or profile visitors should be off until the visitor activates it. We set up a consent banner, a clear privacy policy and pixel settings that respect consent.
- CASL: marketing emails and texts require consent. Checkout and signup consent checkboxes are configured so they are not pre-ticked.
- Consumer information: clear prices, shipping costs, return and refund policies, and contact details build trust and reflect Quebec consumer expectations.
We report what you earn, not just clicks
We measure the numbers that matter for an online store:
- Orders, revenue and average order value
- Conversion rate by device, language and traffic source
- Add-to-cart and checkout drop-off, to find friction
- Revenue from Google, Meta, TikTok, email and organic search
- Returning customer rate
- Page speed and top landing pages
When you keep us on for growth, you receive a monthly report in plain language with the next actions to take.

Frequently asked questions
How long does it take to build a Shopify store?
A theme-based store with a moderate number of products typically launches in 3–6 weeks. Custom theme design, large catalogues, migrations or complex apps usually take 6–12 weeks. Bilingual content and product data readiness are often what decide the timeline.
What affects the cost of a Shopify project?
The main drivers are custom design versus a customized theme, number of products and variants, migration needs, translation volume, custom features or apps, and integrations with inventory, accounting or POS. Shopify plan and app subscriptions are paid directly to Shopify and app developers.
Can my store be fully in French and English?
Yes. We translate the theme, products, collections, pages, policies and notification emails, and set up language switching with proper URLs so both versions can be found on Google. We recommend French-first for Quebec customers.
Do I own my Shopify store?
Yes. The store is created in your name with you as the owner. We work as collaborators or staff accounts, and the theme customizations, content and customer data belong to you.
