Email and SMS That Bring Customers Back
Your list is the one audience you own. We help you grow it with proper consent and turn it into repeat sales, in French and English.
Loubane sets up and runs email and SMS marketing for businesses in Montreal, Quebec and across Canada. We configure Mailchimp or Klaviyo, build CASL-ready signup forms, design bilingual templates, write campaigns and automated flows such as welcome, abandoned cart and win-back, and report the orders, bookings and revenue each message brings in.
What email and SMS marketing is, in plain language
Email and SMS marketing means sending useful, timely messages to people who agreed to hear from you: new products, promotions, appointment reminders, restocks, events. There are two kinds of sends. Campaigns are one-time messages to your list or a segment, like a holiday sale. Flows, also called automations, are sequences triggered by what someone does: signing up, abandoning a cart, buying for the first time, or going quiet for a few months.
Unlike social media or ads, your list does not depend on an algorithm. Once someone subscribes, you can reach them directly. Done well, email and SMS become one of the most dependable sources of repeat revenue for a store or a local business.
Who it’s for in Quebec
- Shopify and WooCommerce stores that want more repeat orders
- Restaurants, cafés and caterers promoting menus, events and reservations
- Clinics, salons, gyms and studios sending reminders and rebooking offers
- Professional firms sharing newsletters and seasonal deadlines
- Real estate brokers, contractors and service businesses nurturing leads that take weeks to decide
In Quebec, most lists are mixed French and English. We capture each subscriber’s language preference at signup so they receive messages in the right language instead of a clumsy bilingual block.
What’s included
- Platform setup or cleanup in Mailchimp or Klaviyo, connected to your Shopify, WooCommerce or WordPress site

- Branded, mobile-friendly email templates in French and English

- Segmentation by language, purchase history, location and engagement
- A monthly campaign calendar with copywriting and design
- List hygiene: removing bounces and inactive contacts to protect deliverability
- Consent records and import review for existing contacts
Our process
Discover
We audit your current list, how consent was collected, your platform and your sales data. Then we choose the flows that will earn the most first.
Build
We authenticate your domain, build forms and templates, and write and test each flow in both languages.
Launch
Flows go live, then campaigns start on a steady calendar. We test subject lines, send times and offers rather than guessing.
Grow
We grow the list through your website, checkout, in-store and ads, refine segments, and add SMS for the moments where a text works better than an email.
Tools and platforms we use
- Klaviyo for e-commerce brands that want deep store data, segmentation and combined email and SMS. Klaviyo supports SMS to Canadian numbers using a toll-free number or a Canadian short code.
- Mailchimp for newsletters, simpler automations and businesses that want an easy interface. Mailchimp’s SMS programs include Canada, subject to its approval process.
- Shopify, WooCommerce and WordPress integrations
- Google Analytics 4 with UTM tags on every link
- Booking and CRM tools when reminders and follow-ups come from your scheduling system
CASL and Quebec compliance notes
Canada’s anti-spam legislation (CASL) applies to commercial electronic messages, which includes email and text messages. Here is what we build into every setup. This is general information, not legal advice.
- Consent first. Express consent, such as an unticked checkbox the person chooses to tick, does not expire unless they withdraw it. Implied consent exists in limited cases, for example within two years after a purchase or six months after an inquiry, so we tag and date these contacts and work to convert them to express consent.
- SMS needs care. Platforms such as Klaviyo require express consent before texting Canadian numbers, so we never import phone numbers for marketing texts without it.
- Identify yourself. Each message includes your business name and a mailing address plus a phone number, email or website.
- Easy unsubscribe. Every message has a free, simple way to opt out, and requests must be processed within 10 business days. Platforms handle this automatically when set up correctly.
- Keep records. We keep signup source, date and consent wording so you can show how consent was obtained.
- Law 25. Quebec’s privacy law requires transparency about the personal information you collect and how you use it. Your forms link to a clear privacy policy, and we collect only what the campaigns need.
- French language. Commercial messages aimed at Quebec customers should be available in French. Language segmentation makes this simple.
We report what you earn, not just clicks
Open rates are increasingly unreliable because of privacy features in mail apps, so we focus on outcomes:
- Revenue and orders attributed to each campaign and flow
- Bookings, appointment confirmations and reduced no-shows from reminders
- List growth by source, and the cost of acquiring each subscriber when ads feed the list
- Click rate, unsubscribe and spam complaint rates, deliverability health
- Revenue per subscriber over time
You get a monthly report in plain language with what worked, what did not, and what we will send next month.

Frequently asked questions
Should I choose Mailchimp or Klaviyo?
Klaviyo is usually the stronger choice for online stores that want detailed purchase data, segmentation and email plus SMS in one place. Mailchimp suits newsletters and simpler automations. We recommend based on your platform, list size, budget and goals, and we can migrate your list and templates.
Can I email the contacts I already have?
Maybe. Under CASL it depends on how and when you got each contact. Express consent does not expire, while implied consent is time-limited, such as two years after a purchase. We review your list, keep the contacts you can legitimately email, and run a consent campaign where needed.
What affects the cost of email and SMS marketing?
The main drivers are your platform plan and list size, the number of flows, how many campaigns per month, whether we write and design in both languages, and SMS sending costs, which are billed by the platform. We quote management after a short audit.
How long does setup take?
A clean setup with domain authentication, forms, templates and a welcome flow typically takes 2–4 weeks. A full bilingual flow library for a store usually takes 4–8 weeks, with campaigns starting as soon as the basics are live.
